Blastrac Global

Blastrac Global is a designer, manufacturer and distributor of portable surface preparation equipment for concrete, steel and asphalt.  Blastrac’s products include shot blasting, diamond grinding and polishing, scraping and dust collection systems and has operations in North America, Europe and Asia.  Blastrac and the Diamatic brand were acquired through an affiliate in 2005 and exited to management in 2011.

AMQUIP

Acquired in 2007, AmQuip is a Northeastern, regional leader of crane rental and related services.  AmQuip owns and operates more than 500 cranes, ranging from 6-ton truck cranes to 500-ton all-terrain and crawler cranes, serving a diverse customer base across many industry sectors.  An affiliate of Solaia led the acquisition of AmQuip and provided a succession planning and liquidity solution to its retiring founder.

Wheelabrator Group is the world’s leading designer and manufacturer of wheelblast, airblast and shot peening equipment. Wheelabrator provides a wide range of stationary surface preparation solutions to the aerospace, automotive, foundry, marine, medical and transportation industries. Wheelabrator was acquired in 2003 by an affiliate and subsequently sold to a European private equity fund in 2006.

National Media Technologies

National Media Technologies Inc. was a New York based provider of digital document conversion and filing services for securities compliance.  NMT was best known for its Edgarization and document service bureau, which handled all aspects of SEC legal filings. An affiliate of Solaia provided operating and growth capital and managed its subsequent sale to strategic buyer, Wolters Kluwer North America.

Advancing Blade was a New Jersey based aircraft services business, specializing in the leasing of helicopters for training, private charter and aerial photography.  The investment was made by an affiliate of Solaia to rescue a failing flight school and transition it into a sale/leaseback operation.

 

Southport Consulting, Inc.


Southport Consulting was a New York based contract provider of IT, programming and systems administration services for financial services institutions and large companies.  Southport Consulting was founded as a spin-out to support specialized systems projects for a major investment bank, and was subsequently grown and diversified.  An affiliate of Solaia provided the growth capital, built an operating platform and managed its subsequent sale to strategic buyer, Thinkpath Inc.
