MICHAEL CARRAZZA - Managing Partner & CEO

Michael has extensive operational and private equity expertise.  He has sponsored transactions across many industries. During the financial crisis, Michael architected the rescue of Patriot National Bancorp and, subsequently, the relaunch of The Bank of Ireland’s U.S. ABL subsidiary, now known as Siena Lending Group. Prior to founding Solaia, Michael was co-founder of Bard Capital Group, and previously worked at Mitchell Madison Group and Goldman, Sachs & Co.

Michael earned his MBA in Finance from the Stern School of Business at New York University, his B.S. in Electrical Engineering from The Pennsylvania State University and studied at The Juilliard School.

 

Fabrizio Arengi Bentivoglio - Managing Partner

Fabrizio has extensive investment and operating management experience in the energy, consumer goods, healthcare and pharmaceuticals sectors and has worked on transactions across the U.S., Europe, Asia and several emerging markets.

He has held executive and finance positions at  multinational pharmaceutical companies, including, Hoffmann-La Roche, Pfizer, and Bristol-Myers Squibb.  He started is career in management consulting at Ernst & Young

Fabrizio earned his MBA in Management and Marketing from the Stern School of Business at New York University and his B.A. from Ca’ Foscari University.  Fabrizio is Chairman of the family office, Fidia Holding SpA.

 

Andrew Jacobson - Managing Partner

Andy is an experienced operating executive and private equity professional with over 35 years of experience as a founder, executive or investor in private companies. Experienced in business operations, structured finance, M&A, corporate strategy, business development and public policy related to small business capital formation. He began career as a journalist and founded several companies, including a small independent business information company, a media/trade show division of The Washington Post Company, and a small business investment company (SBIC) fund.

Andy has held Managing Director positions at Vector Capital, a technology-focused buyout firm, and MCG Capital, a publicly traded Business Development Company, where he led over $300 million in transactions and served on the investment committee for an additional $400 million in deal value. He has experience as public company executive and has held over 20 private company and association board memberships.

Andy earned his B.A. in Public Policy Studies from Duke University.

 

Tommaso Breschi - Principal

Tommaso is responsible for leading transactions, M&A and post-merger integrations, and he is the Head of Corporate Development for Morrow Sodali.  Prior to joining Solaia, Tommaso co-founded MC Square Capital a Connecticut-based merchant bank, and was previously a Vice President within the private equity division at Sciens Capital.  Prior to this, Tommaso worked in M&A at Lazard Frères, focusing on chemical and shipping companies. Tommaso began his career as a management consultant at Accenture, focusing on post-merger integration strategy and execution for pharmaceutical companies.

Tommaso earned his MBA from the Kellogg School of Management and a double M.S. degree in Civil and Environmental Engineering from the Danish Technical University and the University of Florence. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst.
